Subject: #PitMad Request Query - ARROW & CLOVER

Dear Mike,

Hello! I’m excited to share the first 50 pages of my manuscript for ARROW & CLOVER with you after your request during today’s PitMad. Here’s the tweet you liked:

LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA X TITHE

17yo agender Arrow expected rednecks and homework in NC; instead, a faerie party leads them to baking in an abandoned mall, and trying to break a 100 year old curse before their cute new half-fae friend is sacrificed.

#PitMad #YA #LGBT #OWN

All agender teen Arrow wants when they sneak out is diner coffee and hashbrowns, but instead, they’re lured into the woods behind Waffle House to a faerie party, where they settle for magic fruit that usually gets mortals trapped under the hill. Forever. Arrow meets Clover, a cute half-fae who, even though Arrow wasn’t exactly warm to her the first time they met, has Arrow’s back. She makes a deal to get Arrow a gig as the baker’s assistant for a year and a day instead of being kept by the fae.

Just as things are starting to feel normal (well, manageable), Clover is chosen as a sacrifice to a hundred year old curse that keeps the faeries’ glamour intact each year. Created to be unbreakable, Arrow discovers only their blood can free the fae and save Clover. If the bitter king who cast it doesn’t kill Arrow first, breaking the curse by spilling their own blood just might.

ARROW & CLOVER is a YA contemporary fantasy at 76,000 words, combining fantasy elements from Queen of Nothing and a strong contemporary voice like The Last True Poets of the Sea. I grew up in Oregon before graduating from Western Oregon University with a B.A. in English Linguistics. After moving to Seattle and then North Carolina, I married my cosplay sweetheart and adopted several pets who take up my time not spent writing the queer books I needed when I was a teenager. I'm currently working on my next novel.

Sincerely,

Ash Nouveau
